How to start with GoMining in 2026: step by step, from account to first payout

Six steps, in the order they actually happen. Where the referral code goes so it isn't lost, what each budget buys today, when the first bitcoin lands, and which discounts to switch on before the first bill.

GoMining's onboarding is short: an account, a miner, and the next morning a payout. What trips people up is the order. The referral code has to be in place before the first purchase, the discounts start counting from the day you set them up, and a couple of choices at checkout decide whether you can sell the miner in a month or in three. This guide walks the path once, with every rule sourced to GoMining's documentation and checked on 2 September 2026. If GoMining changes a step, the date tells you how old this is.

Before step one: what you're buying

A digital miner is a fixed amount of real hashrate, measured in TH, running in a data centre, with a fixed electricity efficiency in W/TH. Every day it mines a share of bitcoin proportional to its TH, and every day it pays maintenance proportional to its TH and its W/TH. You keep the difference. Since June 2026 every new miner on the primary market is 12 W/TH, the most efficient tier the platform offers, so for a first purchase the only real choice is size. Why efficiency matters more than size is worked out here; for now, the rule is: buy 12 W/TH new and don't be tempted by cheap second-hand miners above 20 W/TH.

Step 1 — Create the account and put the code in first

You can sign up on the website or in the app. Nothing about the account matters yet except one thing: if you're going to use a referral code, it has to be applied before you buy anything. GoMining accepts it three ways — through a referral link, as a code in your profile, or as a promo code during the first purchase — and only within 30 days of signing up (referral programme).

The link route is the one that fails silently on a phone: it drops you on the app store, and no part of the address survives that jump. So do it the reliable way. Copy the code below, sign up, then open your profile, tap the gear icon at the top right → Account details, find the friend's code field and paste it. That path was confirmed with a real first-time user in July 2026.

The code: 11jY4
+5% hashrate on your first miner (up to 25 TH), a month of VIP Platinum+, and a card cashback if you hit the spending threshold in 90 days. The first two expire 30 days after sign-up.

What you get for it is not symbolic. On a 20 TH first miner, +5% is one extra TH mining for you for as long as you own it; the Platinum+ month is one of the maintenance discounts you'd otherwise have to earn. Neither costs you anything.

Step 2 — Choose the size, and know what it earns

Miners start at 1 TH. GoMining priced new 12 W/TH miners in June 2026 at $21.99 per TH for a 1 TH miner, dropping to $17.60 at 5,000 TH (announcement); the exact figure for your size shows at checkout. Here is what typical first budgets buy at the entry price, what the code adds, and the net after maintenance with today's bitcoin price:

Budget TH With the code Net/month, no discounts Net/month, max discounts
Calculating…

At $21.99/TH, 12 W/TH, electricity at $0.05/kWh. Larger miners cost less per TH, so real figures are slightly better than these. "Max discounts" is 20% token + 6% VIP + 3% button, which nobody has on day one; the first column is your starting point and the second is the ceiling to work towards.

Two things to decide at checkout. Payment method: GoMining takes crypto and fiat, and the list varies by region. Purchases made through Apple, Google or the Ecommpay card gateway come with a hold of up to 90 days before the miner can be sold or the rewards withdrawn (buying and selling); paying in crypto avoids that. Instalments: the platform offers Mine Now Pay Later, 25% upfront and the rest in monthly instalments at 0% interest, with identity verification above $1,000 (documentation). It's a way to start bigger, not a way to make the miner earn more.

Step 3 — The first payout, and where the maintenance comes from

Rewards are calculated once a day for the previous full UTC day and credited to your virtual wallet between roughly 02:00 and 05:00 UTC; the first one arrives within 24 hours of the purchase (about miners). Every reward comes with that day's maintenance already deducted: the electricity your miner used, plus the service fee of $0.0089 per TH. What that bill is made of, line by line, is here.

By default the maintenance is taken in bitcoin out of the reward. You can instead pay it in GOMINING tokens from your virtual wallet, and that choice matters for two reasons: it's what unlocks the token discount in the next step, and it switches on Reward Protection, which floors a bad day at zero — if a day's reward doesn't cover its maintenance, the result is no payout and no debt, never a negative balance (official payouts guide). If the token balance runs out, the platform falls back to deducting in bitcoin.

Step 4 — Switch on the discounts on day one

The maintenance bill can be cut by up to 29%, and every part of that discount is something you do, not something you're given. In order of effort:

  1. The service button. Press it once a day in the app: +0.3% per consecutive day, capped at 3% after ten days, and the streak resets if you miss a UTC day. It's free, so start the streak on day one.
  2. The VIP tier. Automatic. Your level is set by whichever is highest of your total TH, your veGOMINING votes or your referral activity (VIP programme), and it's worth from 0.3% up to 6%. The Platinum+ month from the referral code is separate from this ladder and sits on top for the first 30 days.
  3. The token balance. Holding GOMINING in your wallet gives 1% off for every 18 days of maintenance the balance would cover, up to 20% at 360 days. Tokens you lock as veGOMINING count towards the same coverage. This one is real capital, and it grows with your fleet: the mechanics and the trade-off are worked out here.

Skip the token if you want; the button and the VIP tier alone are worth up to 9% for nothing. But don't skip the button: on a 20 TH miner it's small money, and on the fleet you may have in two years it's the cheapest 3% you'll ever earn.

Step 5 — Withdrawing

Rewards accumulate in your virtual wallet and you withdraw manually once you've completed identity verification. GoMining says the bitcoin arrives within about an hour; the network fee is shown before you confirm and depends on Bitcoin's own congestion, not on a flat schedule; and after changing your email, password or two-factor settings there's a 12-hour pause on withdrawals (rewards). The minimum amount and the daily limit are shown in the app for your account, so we don't print a number here that could be wrong next month.

A small practical point: bitcoin network fees are per transaction, not per satoshi, so withdrawing tiny amounts often costs proportionally more. Letting a few weeks accumulate is usually cheaper than withdrawing every day.

Step 6 — Growing, and keeping score

Once the first miner is running, there are three ways to grow, all in the app:

  • Add hashrate to a miner you own. Miners have 20 levels from 1 TH to 5,000 TH, and the higher the level the cheaper each extra TH gets (computing power). This is the route to check first when reinvesting rewards.
  • Improve efficiency. Older miners can be upgraded towards 12 W/TH one step at a time, from $2.67 per TH per step according to the June 2026 announcement. Relevant if you ever buy second-hand.
  • The marketplace. Buy from or sell to other users. Prices there are set by sellers and swing a lot, so compare any offer against the primary price per TH before assuming it's a bargain.

Optional, and free: Miner Wars, a weekly competition between clans that closes every Tuesday at 00:00 UTC and pays a bitcoin prize fund; your miners keep earning their normal daily rewards while you play (Miner Wars). The one thing to know is that the solo mining discount voted on each week doesn't apply to miners entered in Wars, so check both sides before moving a miner in.

And keep score. The app shows today's reward; it doesn't show whether the miner is on track to pay for itself. The fleet panel on this site does that from the CSV GoMining lets you export, with no account and nothing leaving your browser: import the file, and it reconstructs each miner's cost, net and payback.

The whole thing on one screen

  1. Sign up. Paste the code in Account details before buying.
  2. Buy 12 W/TH, the size your budget allows. Pay in crypto if you may want to sell within 90 days.
  3. Next morning: first reward, maintenance already deducted.
  4. Press the service button daily. Decide whether to pay maintenance in tokens.
  5. Verify identity, withdraw when the amount makes the network fee worth it.
  6. Reinvest by adding TH to the miner you have. Track it.

Before any of it, run your budget through the calculator: it shows the net, the payback and the bitcoin price below which the miner loses money, which is the number worth knowing before step one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the app, or does the website work?

Both work for signing up and buying. The referral code field lives in the profile settings under Account details, reachable from either. On a phone the referral link may send you to the app store first; that's fine, just paste the code by hand after installing.

When do I get the first payout?

Within 24 hours of buying. Rewards are calculated for each full UTC day and credited between about 02:00 and 05:00 UTC the next morning, with that day's maintenance already deducted.

Where exactly does the referral code go?

Profile → gear icon at the top right → Account details → friend's code. Paste it and save before your first purchase; GoMining also accepts it as a promo code at checkout. It has to be applied within 30 days of signing up and before any miner is bought.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, where fiat is available for your region, and also through Apple and Google in the app. Those routes come with a hold of up to 90 days before the miner can be sold or rewards withdrawn; paying in crypto avoids it.

What is the smallest miner?

1 TH, priced at $21.99 in June 2026. It earns proportionally: the maths in the table above scales linearly, so a 1 TH miner nets one-hundredth of a 100 TH one. It's a way to see the mechanics with real money, not a way to earn meaningfully.

Can I sell the miner later?

Yes, on the platform's marketplace, at a price you set. Miners bought through Apple, Google or the Ecommpay gateway can't be sold for up to 90 days after purchase.

Ready to start? Take the bonus with you

With the code 11jY4 you get +5% extra hashrate on your first miner purchase, up to a maximum of 25 TH, and a free month of VIP Platinum+, one of the maintenance discounts from step 4.

The code does not travel on its own, and this is what goes wrong. If you tap through on a phone, the link drops you on the app download page, and no part of the address survives that jump. You install, you sign up… and the referral was never applied, with nothing to warn you. Copy it now and paste it into your profile —gear icon top right → Account details → friend's codebefore you buy your first miner. Afterwards it can no longer be applied.
